Boredom busters

Yes, my children are sliding down the stairs.

They were having hopping contests in different ways across the front room. I love Jarrett's face in the second one!

Snow!!!

It's so fun having a yard to play in!

I must be crazy! So far this morning I have listened to Rachel cry, yell, scream, and cry some more all because she didn't want to get dressed. So naturally, she has a red face from crying so much. I tell her to go wash her face so it won't be red for school and she tells me she doesn't want to go to school today. I ask her why and she says it's because she doesn't want to go with a red face. So, since I'm a sucker (or just too lazy to drag everyone out of the house) I tell her it's ok if she wants to stay home. I sure hope it doesn't back-fire...

Big Mistake...BIG

I went to get my hair colored on Saturday. Don't laugh too hard, please! I thought I knew what I wanted; but this is how it turned out. It came out a lot lighter than I expected it would and the blond pieces were way too wide!
I feel like a fool and even worse, now I have to deal with it. At least until we get paid again. Don't get my wrong, the girl at the beauty school did an excellent job, I just don't like how it turned out. My bad!

These are some fun craft ideas that I saw on a local show Studio 5. They look really fun and great for decorations. I'm making the wreath; I'm so excited!

Oatmeal Pumpkin Cookies

These cookies are so good I had to share! They taste a oatmeal cookies with a hint of pumpkin bread....sooo good!

2 c flour
1 1/3 c oats
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp salt
1 c butter or margarine, softened (I use butter flavored Crisco)
1 c pumpkin puree
1 c packed brown sugar
1 c sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350. Grease baking sheets.

Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, pie spice and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add pumpkin, egg and vanilla; mix well. Add flour mixture; mix well. Drop 1/4 cup of dough on baking sheet; spread into 3 inch circle or oval. Repeat with remaining dough.

Bake 14-16 minutes or until cookies are firm and lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; move to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 20-25 large cookies.

I am so proud of myself! I've worked out for the last two days! That makes three days total since the begining of the year. No soda and candy is going well; although it was hard to pass the chocolate at the grocery store today. Valentine candy is popping up everywhere! I will not fail.......

I'm sick and tired of dealing with Rachel and her bad moods all the time!!!!!! I don't know how to get her to stop throwing her fits over every little thing!!! How do I get her to be happy?! I know now why Heavenly Father blessed me with another little boy in stead of a girl. I couldn't handle another Rachel! Any advice?
